THE BEST SHAVING FEELING

What is the best shaving experience?

Shaving has evolved along side the history of civilization, from the emergence of war which a clean shave is generally a standard, and in contrast there is the full beard of rebellion. Every change in fashion and trends shape how and why we shave. It started with the caveman scratching his face with a rock, to the invention of the first blade. More common tools are the straight razor found in barber shops, then there is the classic double edge safety razor (DE razor), today there are highly marketed disposable cartridge razors like the mach 3, and we mustn’t forget the electric razor which is a nice tool when crunch for time.

Even with its illustrious history and plethora of tools, blades, brushes and creams, the perfect shave is as elusive as ever. Most men dread shaving and find it to be a morning chore, as unmemorable as laundry or those of picking up after the dog when it’s done its business. The reason men hate shaving is because of the after effects of a poor shave, razor burn, cuts, nicks, and irritation.

This leads to the question what is the best shaving experience? Although every face is different, with different skin type and different needs. More men are turning back to the classic wet shave, with a simple durable double edge safety razor, accompanied by some all natural soap or shaving cream. You may ask: how does thus lead to the best shaving?

It is the closest smoothest most consistent shave.

The lather from a quality soap acts as a shied so that the blade can get as close to the skin without damaging it. We shaving by far offer s a closer shave than an electric razor, you will look great in the morning and that five o’clock shadow can wait a little longer. Once you get the hang of it a good technique will be easy to master, this will allow for a consistent shave every morning.

Improved skin

Most men will notice their skin will improve by using a quality natural soap. Many Gels out there today have chemicals and formulas we’ve never heard of, the best bet is a soap or cream with natural oils from plants and fruit. The after shave is just as important as the shaving cream, the skin is at its most vulnerable after any type of shave; you should always clean and moisturize properly with a natural moisturizer. You will notice after a couple shaves how your skin has improved.

Saves money and good for the environment
A classic DE razor can last a life time; they are made with quality and precision. The blades cost pennies, usually under 10 cents per blade, and can be used for 4-6 shaves.  The blades for cartridge razors are more expensive, usually over ten dollars for a pack of three. There is also less waste when using a DE safety razor, which is better for the environment. The only waste is some natural lather down the drain and a double edge razor which is easily recyclable. The cartridge razors use more plastics that do not last as long an eventual ends up in a land fill or in the ocean, plastic is an everlasting material that’s has polluted our oceans for sometime now, so much so that traces of it can be found in fish.
